50th Anniversary of the
William R. Gerdon Swimming Pool
On Saturday, July 7, 2007, the Cuyahoga Heights Youth Committee sponsored the event, “50 Years of Fun in the Sun!” The event took place at the Village Hall, our swimming pool and its surrounding areas. The day was hot and humid and you couldn’t ask for better swimming weather. In addition to swimming at the pool, there were inflatables for the children at the Kids Zone section along with “Go Racers,” “Gladiator Jousting” and the “Giant Sandbox.” Throughout the day there was a band and deejay for everyone’s listening pleasure. The Girl Scouts, Swim Team, Police & Fire Departments had booths set up and our Senior Citizens group had bingo. In the evening, the movie “Night at the Museum” was shown outside on the lawn for the kids. Everyone had a great time meeting new neighbors, getting acquainted with old friends or pool staff from years ago. A very big thank you to the Youth Committee and everyone that helped make this event a success!
